The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley is happy to welcome our new Chief Program Officer, Cynthia Chagolla. As the Chief Program Officer, Cynthia will lead, integrate, and strengthen the Law Foundation’s legal services and systems change work across its program areas of Children & Youth, Health, and Housing.
“We are thrilled to have Cynthia join us as Chief Program Officer,” said Alison Brunner, Law Foundation CEO. “Her strong leadership skills, extensive legal experience, and commitment to racial equity will be an enormous benefit to the Law Foundation and the clients we serve.”
Cynthia most recently worked as the founding Directing Attorney at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles where she managed the Preventing and Ending Homelessness Project. During her time at Bet Tzedek, she played a leadership role in building the housing and tenant defense advocacy work, securing numerous contracts and millions of dollars of funding, and directing community outreach and legal clinics, among many other contributions. Prior to that, Cynthia practiced public interest law at Bay Area Legal Aid and California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. She has worked on a broad range of poverty and racial justice issues through affirmative litigation, direct services, and community-driven advocacy.
“I am excited to return to the Bay Area and join the amazing work happening at the Law Foundation in my new role as Chief Program Officer,” said Cynthia. “I am committed to furthering the organization’s impact in our community and happy to be working alongside passionate program staff who deeply care about making a difference in the lives of our clients”.
Cynthia was recruited to the Law Foundation by Talent Citizen, an executive search firm that taps into the nation’s best thinkers from the civil, corporate, and nonprofit sectors in their pursuit of positive social impact.
