Volunteer Roles & Internships
The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley and its six programs are always looking for committed and talented students and community members to intern and volunteer at our organization. Volunteering with the Law Foundation offers valuable opportunities to learn about the legal profession and nonprofit legal services.
The Law Foundation has many volunteer opportunities throughout the year for law students. The Law Foundation's public interest legal practice includes direct client services, impact and class litigation, systemic reform, administrative and legislative advocacy, and community outreach and education.
For summer law clerk recruitment many of the Law Foundation programs attend the Northern California Public Interest/Public Sector Legal Career Day in February of each year. If you cannot participate, be sure to send applications by February to ensure placement consideration. For non-summer positions, applications are accepted year-round.
Please submit a letter describing your interest, qualifications, and the Law Foundation program or programs in which you are interested; writing sample demonstrating persuasive and analytical abilities (limit 8 pages); resume; and names and contact information for 3 references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Undergraduate students interested in a future career in law are encouraged to apply for school year. These internships focus on teaching the student about legal services through assisting attorneys and staff with the administrative tasks involved in case management, shadowing staff on trips to local health facilities, client visits, and to court.
Skill level, educational and extra-curricular experience will determine the level of responsibility given to each intern. To apply please send a resume and cover letter to email@example.com.
